Remy Laser
The Remy laser is a powerful tool that can help many different conditions of the foot and ankle. We are proud to be able to help our patients with this product.
The Laser can be used to treat pain, either acute or chronic. This can be really useful for plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis or other tendinitis of the foot and ankle.
It can also be used to improve neuropathy, nail fungus, wound healing and to treat plantar warts. It is very versatile and not painful!
OnyFix
While still providing nail avulsion for treatment of more severe and infected ingrowing toenails, at Comprehensive Foot and Ankle Care, we also want to offer alternative treatments to our patients. Onyfix is a compound that bind to the base of the nail and stays in place as the nail grows. It consequently changes the shape of the toenail as it grows out, decreasing the curvature. It is a great alternative for patients with risk factors like diabetes or vascular disease. This may also be a good option for kids that are scared of needles.
Keryflex
Keryflex is a treatment available exclusively in podiatrists office. It is is used to improve the appearance of damaged toenails. It uses a composite resin that creates a non-porous nail. It typically lasts between 6-8 weeks. It is perfect to use during the summer or for an event.
PADnet
The office uses PADnet to screen for peripheral artery disease. This device is able to provide us with Ankle Brachial Index (ABI), Pulse Volume Recording (PVR) and Toe Brachial Index (TBI). These give use useful information regarding the health of the arterial system. Many conditions put patients at risk for PAD like diabetes, HTN, smoking, aging, high cholesterol and obesity to name a few.
PAD can be suspected in patients with a non-healing, pain in their legs when walking (claudication), non palpable pulses, discoloration of feet, cold feet.
Foot and Ankle Surgeries
Conservative treatments are always the first approach, but sometimes more is needed. No matter if you have a bunion, a hammertoe, ankle fracture, ankle instability, tendon tear, flatfoot or any other foot and ankle pathologies, you will find what you need at Comprehensive Foot and Ankle Care. Dr. Blanchette is double certified and highly trained in foot and ankle surgeries.
She will perform her surgeries locally either at Overlook Medical Center or at The Center for Ambulatory Surgery here in Mountainside.
Custom molded Orthotics
Orthotics are devices that help the body function better by supporting or realign them. In Podiatry we often use custom molded foot or ankle orthotics. Foot orthotics can be used to help a variety of different conditions like plantar fasciitis, Morton’s neuroma, osteoarthritis, bunion, flatfoot, high arches, tendinitis, etc.
Ankle and Foot Orthotics (AFO) can be used for more severe deformities that encompass the ankle as well. This can be for severe flatfeet with tendon damage, after a stroke or to help with balance.
